Elections are being held on the Cumberland House Cree Nation today.

Four people are vying for the right to replace former chief Walter Sewap.

The candidates include Lawrence Stewart, Peter Laliberte, Jennifer Stewart and Robert McKay, Sr.

A total of 11 people are running for the four seats on council, including Sewap.

Three of the candidates are incumbents seeking re-election.

All of the winners will serve three-year terms in office, which is a departure from previous band elections when terms were only two years in length.
