It’s shaping up to be an intriguing election for chief in Cumberland House later this month.

Current chief Peter Laliberte is seeking re-election and will be up against two former chiefs — Walter Sewap and Pierre Settee.

Settee was voted out of office two years ago when Laliberte was first elected chief.

Sewap was the man who ended Settee’s long tenure as chief in Cumberland House six years ago.

Settee was eventually re-elected in the next band election.

Meanwhile, 20 people will be running for the four available positions on council — including all four incumbents.

The winners will serve two-year terms in office.

The election in Cumberland House takes place on March 30th.
