A Battleford courtroom heard more details yesterday about the night a young Big Island Lake First Nation man died.

22-year-old Edwin Dufraine died from stab wounds suffered during a house party in November, 2006.

22-year-old Lynette Sandfly is charged in connection with his death.

Defence lawyer George Combe says several witnesses provided some key testimony on Tuesday — stating Dufraine sometimes became aggressive when drinking.

Combe argues his client was acting in self-defence.

Several witnesses testified yesterday that they heard noises at the house in question.

They rushed upstairs to find Sandfly holding a knife.

Dufraine was found lying in the snow.

The Crown is expected to wrap up its case today.
