The Gabriel Dumont Institute has signed a new partnership with SaskEnergy and SaskTel.

As part of the agreement, SaskEnergy will renew its scholarship program and induction training program, as well as accept student work placements — while GDI and SaskTel will sign a new Metis scholarship agreement.

GDI spokesman Geordy McCaffery says the school is hoping its partnership with SaskTel will expand to include the kind of trades training currently offered in the SaskEnergy deal.

GDI is holding its annual general meeting Saturday, where it plans to celebrate the partnership.
