Saskatchewan’s minister of Community Resources says more information is being shared these days with First Nations who have children in foster care.
Joanne Crawford says the tragic incident of Baby Andy sparked a number of changes to how the government’s child and family services agency deals with individual cases.
She explains closer ties have been drawn between the aid workers and how information is passed back and forth.
She also says the province has a more focused approach for dealing with cases of Aboriginal children.
Crawford adds the government is now sharing its computer data-base with aid workers from First Nations as well.
