It was a busy long weekend for RCMP around the province, with three fatal crashes taking place — all involving alcohol.

The first accident happened at about 4:00 Friday afternoon, when a 50-year-old man from the Ahtahkakoop First Nation was involved in an accident near the reserve.

The man was in a vehicle that collided head-on with another vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another fatal accident took place early Saturday morning near the Canoe Lake First Nation.

A 15-year-old girl died following a single vehicle rollover.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Carole Raymond says a 20-year-old female passenger was transported to a Saskatoon hospital.

In addition to alcohol, speed and a lack of seatbelt use are believed to have been contributing factors in the fatal crash.

The third accident also took place on Saturday, and claimed the life of a 37-year-old man from the One Arrow First Nation.

Raymond says the victim was the driver of a van that drove into the back of another van near Domremy.

She says both occupants of the van that initiated the collision were ejected in the ensuing rollover.

The Mounties say a 24-year-old female passenger in the vehicle is now in a Saskatoon hospital in critical condition.

No names have been released, and all three crashes are still under investigation.
