The top-ranking justice of the peace in the province says more courts could be coming to reserve.

Last week Don Webster announced that the Mistawasis reserve would have its own court beginning January 27th.

One day a month a local Justice of the peace will preside over minor cases in the community.

Webster says the idea is to give local residents more access to the justice system.

Pelican Lake and Witchekan Lake also have courts.

Webster says right now many of the infractions will likely be violations of the traffic act.

But later on the court may deal with more serious matters if things are going well
