One southern Saskatchewan First Nation is going green.

The Cote First Nation is taking steps to clean up the area through its waste management program.

The First Nation’s water technician, Randy Friday, says they did a community clean-up and bought a brand-new garbage truck and steel garbage bins to make the area look nicer.

Firday says the First Nation is also developing a new landfill, in order to control and monitor dumping and burning, and keep the reserve clean.

He says an environmental committee is being formed to think up of new ways the community can be more environmentally friendly.
