The new Conservative Party of Canada has officially endorsed Jeremy Harrison as its candidate in Churchill River for the anticipated federal election this spring.

The 26-year-old law student from Meadow Lake had previously won the Canadian Alliance nomination.

Harrison says he has put off his final semester in law school to campaign for a seat in Parliament full time.

It was Harrison who threw the spotlight on Churchill River MP Rick Laliberte’s travel spending and attendance record in Ottawa.

Incidentally, Harrison says he’s throwing his support behind Stephen Harper in the new party’s leadership race.

Harrison feels Harper understands the issues in Northern Saskatchewan and is committed to addressing problems in the region.
