Clarke Makes House Of Commons Debut

Northern Saskatchewan’s new MP took his seat in the House of Commons today.
Members of Parliament are back on the job for the first time since the recent by-elections — including Tory MP Rob Clarke.
The Muskeg Lake band member was the only Conservative to win any of the recent by-elections — but defeated the Liberals’ Joan Beatty by roughly 1,700 votes to take the seat away from the Liberals.
A swearing-in ceremony was held earlier today at Parliament Hill’s historic Centre Block area for the new representative of the Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River riding.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended today’s proceedings.
