An official with Northlands College says some minor changes may have to be made to the course-load of some northern students.

In September, the school’s first-ever mobile training courses began at the Cigar Lake mine.

A total of 21 students studying electrical and industrial mechanics are staying at the Cameco work site.

Northlands CEO Bill McLaughlin says the students were scheduled to head underground in January to begin the practical training element of their classes.

However, he admits new arrangements may have to be made in light of the recent flooding at the site.

McLaughlin says the plan right now is to proceed on schedule until new information is forthcoming.
