A Saskatchewan chief wonders if average First Nations citizens feel connected to the ongoing Assembly of First Nations gathering in Saskatoon.

This is the third and final day of proceedings at the Confederacy of Nations meeting.

The event has drawn hundreds of band chiefs, elders and other band representatives.

Chief Robert Whitehead of the Yellow Quill First Nation isn’t sure if grassroots band members are kept up to speed on what takes place at gatherings like this one.

Whitehead says there needs to be more average band citizens given the opportunity to be delegates at these meetings.
