The chief of the Red Earth First Nation has chosen to hoist the flag of Liberal candidate Gary Merasty.
Miller Nawakayas feels Merasty offers the best chance for his band to get the road paved to their community.
Late last year, the province announced $65 million in upgrades to northern infrastructure. However, none of it is earmarked for the eastern part of Highway 55.
Nawakayas believes that might change if Merasty goes to Ottawa.
Nawakayas says many politicians have discussed the road so far, but nothing is being done.
