Four-year terms are up for grabs in today’s chief and council election at the Clearwater River Dene Nation.

Incumbent chief Roy Cheecham has been in charge of the band for the last 12 years and is seeking another term.

He’s being challenged by Guy Lemaigre and H.A. Tony Piche.

Meanwhile, a total of 46 candidates are running for a spot on the 5-member band council.
