Charges have been laid in the wake of an accident in northern Saskatchewan that saw a woman fatally struck by a semi-trailer.
23-year-old Jo-Anne Henderson was killed along Highway 2 just north of Timber Cove shortly before 1 a.m. yesterday.
The RCMP says Henderson was a passenger in a vehicle that entered the ditch just prior to her death.
She was struck by the semi after walking into a driving lane of the nearby highway.
The Mounties have charged a 24-year-old man from the Timber Bay area, who they say was driving the vehicle that ended up in the ditch.
He’s been charged with impaired care and control of a vehicle and refusal of a breathalyzer demand.
His name will be released once he makes his first court appearance in Montreal Lake on May 11th.
The driver of the semi will not be charged.
