Charges Laid In Fatal Highway Crash In La Ronge

A 28-year-old Stony Rapids man has been charged in connection to a fatal crash in La Ronge.

The charges stem from the head-on collision on a highway in La Ronge in late August that caused the death of 57-year-old local resident Larry Reginald Urquhart.

Wilbert Mercredi has been charged with impaired driving causing death, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 causing death.

Mercredi has been released until his next court date on December 29th.
