Three people are facing charges in what Regina police are calling the city’s first homicide of the year.

A 49-year-old man was found injured on a street corner at around 11 o’clock Friday evening.

Darcy John Wapach was eventually pronounced dead at hospital.

Police say the Regina resident’s injuries stemmed from a confrontation in a home in the neighbourhood.

Roderick Devon Asapace, 22, of Regina, and Hilliard William Joseph Worme, 22, also of Regina, are facing a charge of second degree murder.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Sammijoe Moneybird of Regina has been charged with obstructing justice.

All three are making their first court appearances today.
