Charge Laid In Death On Beaver Lake Road

A 23-year-old man from Denare Beach has been charged in connection to an incident last April that saw a woman die after being struck by a vehicle on a Creighton-area highway.

The accused is facing a charge of driving without due care and attention.

21-year-old Melissa Joyce Bighetty died in the early morning hours of April 30th, 2008 after being struck while walking on Highway 167 on the Beaver Lake Road.

She was taken to the Flin Flon hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspect will appear in Creighton Provincial Court on February 24th.

Creighton RCMP say they knew the identity of the driver from the outset, because the victim was driven to the hospital by the vehicle’s driver.
