Chamber President Wants North to Think Investment

An economic leader in the province says he’d like to see northern Saskatchewan come up with a more focused approach for attracting outside investment.
Warren Michelson, president of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, says that message goes for pretty much every other region of the province, as well.
Michelson feels not enough is being done to show outside companies the vast amounts of resource potential Saskatchewan has to offer — and the North is no exception with its abundance of timber, minerals and fresh water.
He points out that the city of Moose Jaw managed to get the ball rolling on a new business in its community after building a mineral spa there.
He encourages other areas to think of unique ways they might be able to grab the eye of outside investors.
Michelson says a grassroots approach to economic growth is always better than a government one.
