CBC Stages Protest In La Ronge

Local CBC announcer, Tom Roberts, was joined yesterday by 20 of his locked out colleagues to stage a protest at the CBC office in La Ronge.

The information picket is a first since the over 5500 union employees were locked out over a month ago.

Roberts says he loves having the company and support from his colleagues from down south, as he normally operates the northern CBC office by himself.

Roberts added that CBC is in the process of negotiating with its locked out employees and now is the chance for the public to lobby their MP’s and provincial politicians in support of the union.

A similar protest was staged earlier in the day in Prince Albert.
