The village of Cumberland House will be the site of a meeting tomorrow for an Aboriginal group looking to establish roots in the province.

The Aboriginal Affairs Coalition of Saskatchewan has been in development for some time now, and recently became an affiliate of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples.

Organizers says all Native people are welcome, and only on-reserve First Nations residents are ineligible to become members.

Member Melvin Fosseneuve says he hopes the group can give a voice to those who need it — noting urban Aboriginal people currently don’t have the rights afforded to the on-reserve population.

Tomorrow’s meeting begins at 3:00 and is being held at the Cumberland House Village Hall.
