Candidates Announced in Buffalo River Election

An election will take place later this month on the Buffalo River Dene Nation.

Incumbent chief Debbie Billette is running against 4 challengers, including,Peter Katarat, John Montgrand, Gilbert Benjamin and Freddie Billette.

Meantime 16 people are vying for 5 counsellors chairs.

All of the winners will serve 2-year terms.

Advance polls open Friday with the election itself slated for February 27th.
