Calvert Visiting Flood-Threatened Community
Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 14:25
Premier Lorne Calvert is paying a visit Cumberland House today as part of his ongoing bus tour of the North.
The premier says he’s been kept updated about the flood potential there, and expects that issue will dominate his discussion with locals there today.
Calvert says Cumberland House is eligible for help under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Plan, but says his presence there today won’t affect the level of assistance the community receives.
Calvert will also be making stops today in Shoal Lake and Red Earth.
Today is Day One of the second leg of his northern bus tour.
