Buffalo Narrows Anti-Drug Policy Under Scrutiny

A new zero-tolerance drug policy in Buffalo Narrows is the source of some attention, according to the village’s mayor.

Bobby Woods says the idea was frequently discussed at last week’s meeting of northern mayors in La Ronge.

The policy essentially gives citizens in Buffalo Narrows the right to tell known drug pushers their actions and presence aren’t welcome in the village.

Woods says it’s fairly easy to know who’s dealing the illegal substances.

He isn’t sure how the policy would be affected by a Charter of Rights challenge.

However, he is calling on other northern communities to follow suit as soon as possible.
