Boys’ Volleyball Team the Toast of La Loche

The La Loche Dene High Lakers boys’ volleyball team has captured the provincial 4A championship.
The Lakers defeated Esterhazy in Saturday’s provincial final in Maidstone.
Esterhazy’s best defensive effort was overcome by La Loche’s strong and unforgiving offence in the 1st set, won 25-15 by the Lakers.
The second set saw more of the same as Esterhazy worked hard to earn a third set. However, they were no match for the superb attack led by La Loche’s Alwyn Piche as the Lakers won the second and deciding set 25-21.
La Loche won every match and every set it played during the round robin and playoffs en route to the provincial title.
