There has been another drowning in northern Saskatchewan, and once again, the victim was a child.

The RCMP say it appears a 12-year-old boy drowned on the lake in Pelican Narrows over the weekend.

A passerby noticed the boy’s body in the water late Saturday night and rushed him to the local health centre, where he was pronounced dead.

No other details are available.

Earlier this year, drownings claimed the lives of children in Sandy Bay and Sucker River.
