A run begins today in the memory of a murdered woman from the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

For the next four days, family and friends of Dahleen Bosse are running from the site where her body was found near Martensville to Onion Lake.

Bosse’s mother, Pauline Muskego, says her son and Bosse’s brother is the lead runner.

Muskego says the run is not only in memory of Bosse, but is meant to raise awareness about all the Aboriginal people who are still missing or murdered in Canada.

Bosse’s body was found last August.

Douglas Hales, originally of White Fox, is charged with her first-degree murder and offering an indignity to human remains for allegedly setting her body on fire.

A trial date still hasn’t been set.
