Boil Water Order Expected To Last The Weekend

An official with the Ahtahkakoop First Nation says the water situation on the reserve is slowly returning to normal.

Earlier this week, a precautionary boil water order was issued after mechanical problems were found at the water treatment plant.

Band director Ron Ahenakew says they’ve flushed the lines and everything should be OK.

Ahenakew says initial bacterial tests on the water came back clear and more will be done today.

He is hopeful the boil water order can be lifted early next week.
