Black Lake RCMP Dealing with Rash of Break-Ins

The RCMP in Black Lake are reporting that break-ins were a real problem in the northern community over the holiday season.

The Mounties say there was a series of four break-ins to residences in Black Lake between December 20th and December 31st.

The culprits apparently stole electronic equipment, jewelry, clothing and food.

The RCMP also says it appears that some of these stolen items are currently being sold to unsuspecting buyers in Black Lake.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Stony Rapids RCMP.

In the meantime, the Mounties are encouraging locals to take part in the RCMP’s “Protect Your Investement” program, which got up and running in the community last summer. Residents are asked to turn in forms to the police that contain information about valuable pieces of property — including make, model and serial number.
