Black Lake Man Dies In Snowmobile Crash

The RCMP believe a snowstorm may have played a part in the death of a Black Lake man earlier this week.

39-year-old Leon Bouvier was last seen alive Tuesday morning — the same day a snow storm significantly reduced visibility in the area.

Bouvier was travelling by snowmobile about three kilometres west of Black Lake when he apparently struck a tree and was thrown from the machine.

The snow machine caught on fire, while Bouvier died from the injuries he sustained in that crash.

Bouvier was reported missing yesterday morning, and a little while later, local searchers found his remains.

The RCMP is still investigating the circumstances surrounding Bouvier’s death.

An autopsy has been ordered.
