Crown prosecutors haven’t decided whether they will appeal a “not guilty” verdict reached in a sexual assault trial last week in La Ronge.

A jury acquitted 24-year-old Jason Toutsaint of Black Lake, who was facing a single charge of sexual assault.

The trial is believed to be the first jury trial to be held in La Ronge in more than a decade.

Toutsaint was charged on February 22nd, 2002 following a complaint issued by a woman in Black Lake.
