Birch Hills To Revisit Youth Facility Proposal

The Prince Albert Grand Council says it supports a decision by Birch Hills to re-visit the idea of building a youth facility.

Last month, voters in Birch Hills rejected a proposal to sell land to the PAGC for construction of a 15 bed youth-addictions centre.

The vote wasn’t binding but town and council have decided to hold another one, this time the results would be binding.

The PAGC says citizens need to remember the centre would be a “treatment facility” and not a “correctional” one.

No one from the PAGC was immediately available for comment.
