A doctor has been temporarily assigned to the Big River Health Centre.

Doug Dahl of the Prince Albert Health Region says the physician will be working at the facility from today until Friday.

He notes after Christmas, the doctor will also be seeing patients on the 27th and 28th.

He says efforts are being made to find other doctors for January as well.

The health centre was closed earlier this month after death threats prompted a doctor to return home to Africa.

A spokesman for the RCMP says no arrests have been made in connection to the case, but the investigation is still ongoing.
