A man from the Big River First Nation has made his first court appearance on allegations he killed a fellow band member.

22-year-old Lance Mathew McAdam appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court this morning.

McAdam is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly taking the life of 25-year-old Darren Norman Lachance.

The RCMP say Lachance was rushed to hospital with fatal injuries after an incident in Debden early Saturday morning.

McAdam’s face looked heavily bruised in court this morning, and he had a cut on his nose.

The judge ordered a bail report and set the case over to November 18th.
