Big Island Lake Man Accused Of Stabbing Woman

A man from the Big Island Lake Cree Nation will be back in court tomorrow to face charges related to a stabbing on the reserve this past Friday night.

19-year-old Rueben Oatchess was arrested after a woman in her late 20s was stabbed twice in the stomach and once in the arm.

She was taken to the hospital in Cold Lake, Alberta, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Oatchess has been charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, uttering threats, breach of probation and breach of an undertaking.

He will be in Meadow Lake Provincial Court tomorrow for a bail review.
