An Aboriginal man that was the victim of a beating in Saskatoon last month has died from his injuries.

The Saskatoon Police Service says 38-year-old Arnold Ronnie Nicotine passed away at Royal University Hospital late Saturday afternoon.

Nicotine was admitted to hospital on July 29th with “various injuries” after being found on the ground near 334 Avenue S South at around 6:30 that morning.

The police say Nicotine and several others had been drinking at a party sometime earlier, and it’s believed he received his injuries in a fight.

No arrests have been made in connection to the assault, but the police say several persons of interest have been interviewed by major crimes detectives.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

This is Saskatoon’s third homicide of the year.
