Beardy’s Woman To Run Marathon In Holland

A nurse from Montreal Lake is headed to Amsterdam next week to join the fight against diabetes.
Margaret Gamble, originally from the Beardy’s/Okemasis First Nation, will compete in a marathon as a member of Team Diabetes Canada.
Gamble says she has seen first-hand the dehabilitating effects of the disease and wants to make a difference.
She says she hasn’t had a lot of time to train, however, so she may scale down the length of her run.
Gamble has raised over $5,000 by herself to enter next week’s event.
She encourages those wanting to help to donate money to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
