A band member from the Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation has stumbled across what could be the find of a lifetime.

Debbie Cameron and a friend were walking on the reserve in early April when she came across an arrowhead.

She immediately took it to a geologist, who estimated it to be approximately 10- to 12-thousand years old.

Cameron says her phone has been ringing off the hook since she made the discovery, and the entire community is abuzz with the news.

Cameron adds she will be consulting elders on the reserve about what should be done with the arrowhead in the coming weeks.

It’s currently being stored in a bank vault.
