Three First Nations in Saskatchewan are set to benefit under Ottawa’s economic action plan.

The federal government has announced that the Sturgeon Lake, Piapot and Beardy’s Okemasis bands will all receive approximately $2-million each for new health centres.

Construction of the new facilities is expected to be complete by March 2011.

Government officials says that, in all, $135-million is being spent across the country to fund 40 new construction projects and 230 renovations of First Nations facilities.
