Band To Showcase Itself To Business Community

The Montreal Lake Cree Nation will showcase some of its business ventures this week.

The event is titled “Prosperity through Partnerships” and begins tomorrow at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert.

Coordinator Sheila Keewatin says the band is attempting to integrate itself more fully into the mainstream business community.

She feels jobs and training opportunities will come for band members once that happens.

Keewatin adds the band will also present information about a new training centre it hopes to build.

She says the Montreal Lake Training Centre of Excellence will be the first of its kind anywhere in the country.

The band is hoping to open the facility sometime this summer.
