Band Member Disturbed by Delivery Room Mishap

An investigation is underway at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert into claims from a Pelican Lake band member that her baby landed on the floor during birth.

22-year-old Candace Bear says the incident occurred early Monday morning, and left the infant with a bloody nose and an assortment of other bumps and scrapes.

Bear says she is not happy with the doctor’s performance during the birth and is even considering legal action.

She adds the incident was a traumatic one, and she’s not sure whether or not her baby has fully recovered.

A spokesman with the Prince Albert/Parkland Health region says officials have since been in contact with the family and are attempting to figure out what exactly took place.
