A 28-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in the death of a 10-month-old baby boy on the Ministikwin First Nation.

The child was found deceased in a home on the Moody Lake reserve on Sunday.

Gary Tommy Hill appeared in court in Meadow Lake yesterday.

He’s also facing a charge of failing to provide the necessities of life.

He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday.

An autopsy has been performed on the child’s body, but the cause of death is not being released at this time.

The name of the child is also being withheld.
