Efforts are underway to get a First Nation reinstated in the Green Lake district.

Rodney Laliberte is the man heading up the movement. He says the Kenemotay band lost its status around 100 years ago after several band members were convinced to file for Metis scrip by the federal government.

Laliberte has scheduled an informational meeting for families in the area on December 10th at 1:00pm.

He says an election for chief and headman will take place at that time, as well as other business.

Laliberte says the band is also looking at the possibility of a land claim in the region.

He expects to know more details after the meeting.
