A northern Saskatchewan company has received a prestigious honour.
The Athabasca Basin Development Limited Partnership will be receiving the first ever Skookum Jim Award for excellence by a Canadian Aboriginal-run business that supports the Canadian mineral industry.
A letter from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada says its awards committee was “very impressed” with the level and variety of services ABDLP provides to mining and exploration companies operating in the Athabasca Basin.
Geoff Gay, the manager of the company, says it is nice to be recognized on a national scale — and notes the company is still growing.
The award will be presented in Toronto on Monday at what is considered to be the world’s largest mining conference.
