Artists And Kids Learn Together About Treaties

Teachers, students and artists of every kind combined recently to learn about the treaties and what they mean to them.
The project was co-ordinated by the Living Sky School Division, which is headquartered in the Battlefords.
The two-day program was called “Our Voices, Our Lands”, and it took place at Fort Battleford.
Living Sky School Division Arts Education Consultant Sherron Burns says the project built relationships across cultures.
It helped people from different cultures and different backgrounds learn more about each other.
Burns is not sure whether the project will be done again or not.
She notes the Art Smart grant which helped finance it was a one-time grant, through the Saskatchewan Arts Board.
