Arrest Made In Murder Of Mistawasis Elder

A 37-year-old man from the Mistawasis First Nation accused of killing an elder from his reserve made his first court appearance today in Prince Albert.

Vincent Roderick Dreaver was arrested by the Spiritwood RCMP over the weekend and charged with second-degree murder.

81-year-old Antoine Sand died from multiple stab wounds late last Monday night.

He was on the front steps of a reserve residence at the time, when those inside the home heard him yelling and saw him fall to the ground — but they didn’t see who attacked him.
