Army cadets in Saskatoon hope to soon expand their program to include a core neighbourhood corps.
The 2293 North Saskatchewan Regiment Army Cadet Corps wants to provide a program tailored to the needs of inner city kids to get them involved.
Lt. Kevin Seesequasis says the program would include components of Aboriginal culture, as well as other opportunities.
Seesequasis is hoping for 35 to 50 kids between 12 and 16 years of age.
He emphasizes the program is free, which is why he thinks it could be good for kids in the inner city.
Seesequasis says the program will likely begin in the fall, with recruitment happening this summer.
