A rally to end gang violence is taking place in Saskatoon next week.

On Wednesday, members of the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood will march through the streets to voice their frustration.

The event is being organized by a former resident of Uranium City, who now lives in the city.

Alphonse didn’t want to give his last name, but says it’s time people stopped living in fear.

He adds many of the gang members are kids who moved there from the reserve but have had trouble adjusting to city life.

He advocates reasoning with some of the gang members in a bid to promote understanding between the two sides.

Wednesday’s demonstration begins at 4:00 pm at St. Mary’s School.
