Another Honour For Renowned Aboriginal Actor

Actor Gordon Tootoosis is among nine people from the Battlefords area that will be added to a local Wall of Fame.

The Frontier Mall has been honouring local role models and outstanding community service volunteers since 2000.

Tootoosis hails from the Poundmaker Cree Nation near Cut Knife.

Frontier Mall spokesperson Tracy Smith says there’s no question Tootoosis is someone local Aboriginal youth can look up to.

Tootoosis will be present for the induction ceremony at the Frontier Mall on April 22nd.

Other Aboriginal citizens from the Battlefords district that have been honoured in the Wall of Fame in the past include singer Lorrie Church, members of the rock group Feedback and former NHLer Blair Atcheynum.
