A 45th anniversary banquet and ceremony will take place tonight for the Prince Albert Indian and Metis Friendship Centre.

Mayor Jim Scarrow is expected to be in attendance, as well as many of the centre’s 300 members.

Organizer Mindy Morin says recognition will also be paid to former director Rose Henry.

Morin hopes tonight’s event helps raise awareness about the type of work the centre does on behalf of needy citizens.

The celebration meal begins at 6:15 p.m., with honouring ceremonies set for 8:30 p.m.

The friendship centre in Saskatoon marked 40 years of existence in celebrations held yesterday.
